My department is responsible of the overall design of heavy equipments for the Offshore market like heavy lift cranes and jacking systems. These systems are sold as a turnkey product, which make me involved in all aspects of the project: Engineering, Purchasing, Construction and Commissioning.
Since February 2010, I am Package Engineer of the winches (main/auxiliary/boom/tugger) for the 800t crane revolving around the jacking leg.

This includes a set of at least 5 electric winches per crane.
My work consists of:
- Writing specifications
- Reviewing quotes
- Reviewing the design
- Interfacing with other disciplines (Electrical, Structural, Construction)
- Planning
- Follow up the fabrication / assembly (just spent 2.5 months full time at the assembly factory)
- FAT of the winches
Cranes can be delivered with different class certificate.
So far, 5 cranes have been sold (4 DNV, 1 ABS).
